IBS-Plekhanov has been running and coordinating an undergraduate inter-university case contest for over 6 years. The contest requires competing teams to analyze a difficult business situation in teams of 3, on site, within 90 minutes, and deliver a 4 minute presentation of its solution in line with Harvard Business School format. The project keeps growing and the 5th contest in 2015 has become international, with students from Belarus (Minsk State University) joining in the final round, alongside with students from leading Russian universities, including ours.
We have started the tradition of training students of other universities for the contest, ensuring a growing awareness among students of all universities of the format of the contest and of the excellent career opportunities it opens up.
In line with this tradition, on the 10th of October, our student Case Contest Managers Vladimir Abazov, Dmitry Luytov and Andrey Barakov were invited as members of the panel of assessors, to assist one of our major participants of the Contest, Finance University, to select its best teams for the Inter-University Final of the Case Contest. Vladimir Abazov, Dmitry Luytov and Andrey Barakov worked on the Panel of Assessors in the Finance University Round (one of the semi-finals) alongside with Finance University professors and Macmillan Regional Manager A.Y. Soluyanova, a leading expert on English Language and presentation skills.
Over 45 teams of first, second and third year undergraduate students of Finance University took part in this Round of the Contest. The Round offered 2 cases with different difficulty level:

• A case for the 1st  year students;
• A more advanced case by EY for the 2nd  and 3d  year students.

The panel of assessors at Finance University, which included our Student Contest Managers, has selected the top 3 teams which will make it to the Inter-University Round of the Contest in Spring.
We would like to thank Professor I.I. Klimova, Head of Foreign Languages Department at Finance University, a highly acclaimed expert and author of books on both Case Analysis and English Language Teaching, and her wonderful colleagues, for their enthusiasm and professional guidance, for all the motivation they create for students, for their support of the Case Contest project.
We are also very proud that our second year students are known in the university community not only as participants, but also as contest managers and experienced Case Contest assessors.​
